Even Further Down The Western Elite Rabbit Hole

In this piece, I dive into the elite rabbit hole of deranged, desperate and ever more obvious selective prosecutions, the continuing inability of Western elites to deal with the non-West with any respect, and the ongoing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) jump the shark period. The Western elites just cannot help themselves in feeding increasing opposition while attempting to defeat a major US domestic elite threat (the Trump coalition) through lawfare, insulting and working to undermine China while attempting to keep good relations with it, and feeding social unrest and threatening its own legitimacy and even scientific rigour while jumping the shark in attempting to divide and conquer the rest of the population along sex and class identity lines.

Selective Prosecution

In all of the West, the law has always been biased against those without property, and those without connections. This bias is generally hidden behind a veil of “impartiality” practised by the judiciary while the dirty work gets done by prosecutors behind closed doors (e.g. plea deals agreed under the threat of much greater charges), policemen utilizing their “discretion” (e.g. letter the rich and their kids get off), policemen fitting up those threatening the propertied or just lacking the resources to fight back, biased laws (e.g. sentencing for crack vs. powder cocaine), and white-shoe firms using their connections for the better of the rich and their corporations. When such biased actions can no longer be hidden, they are blamed on “bad apples” usually low down on the pecking order. It is rare in Western nations for such bias to be thrust in front of the curtain behind which it usually hides, and if such occurrences become increasingly prominent, they should be seen as a symptom of a significant break down in elite discipline.

In the US we now have what appears to be open warfare between two parts of the elite, the neoliberal globalists (who have been in control since before WW2) and the neoliberal domestics (who more represent domestic capital that has been put at risk by the ongoing destruction of the economic and social foundations of US society). The latter tend to derive their money from domestic real estate, construction, fossil fuel and mineral extraction, gambling, healthcare, sports, restaurants and retail – areas that rely upon the vitality of the domestic economy. To them, China is the most direct threat to their interests while other theatres such as Ukraine are an expensive distraction. This is the Trump coalition, which the globalists (represented by the Democratic Party and the Republican “never Trumpers”) want to stop at all costs as the Trump coalition threatens their global interests. In Ukraine especially, there seems to have been widespread Western elite plundering together with many sweet deals to sell Ukraine’s resources cheaply, which are predominantly in the centre and east of the country, to Western bidders.

Before I continue, I must state that I have little regard for Trump, who I believe to be just another member of the US capitalist elite who mimics fake regard for the common man while pushing for tax cuts and deregulation for the rich. He is also no peace-lover, with full-on support for the apartheid state of Israel and a focus on defeating China. What he represents is an increasing split within the US capitalist elite that is drawing the curtain back to show us more of the realities of the US establishment and the nature of power in the US.

Trump Impeachments and January 6^th 2020

There were two attempted impeachments, in 2019 and 2021, that both failed miserably. The first was on incredibly tenuous evidence including a highly questionable interpretation of a phone call between Trump and Ukrainian president Zelensky and the testimony of an Alexander Vindman who was so obviously politically biased and directly at odds with the President he was supposed to be serving (with his actions verging on treason). In the call, Trump made reference to the earlier firing of the Ukrainian prosecutor that was investigating Burisma (the Ukrainian firm that employed Biden’s son, paying him up to US$3MM) due to blackmail by Biden using his position of VP; a blackmail that Biden has very openly bragged about.

All that Trump was asking for was a proper investigation of Burisma, and also about the Crowdstrike company that had been hired by the Democrats to manage their servers. This company’s assertions of a Russian hacking were part of the discredited “Russia, Russia, Russia” campaign that was used to delegitimize and undermine Trump’s election and his administration. Here is the text of the conversation between Trump and Zelensky for your own judgement. Neither Biden’s arrogantly confessed-to corruption, nor his son’s obvious influence peddling were ever properly investigated. The widespread law breaking and bias within the security state and Democratic political operatives to undermine Trump’s presidency have been somewhat revealed by the John Durham investigation report, but individuals involved have received “slap on the wrist” style prosecutions or even no consequences at all. The investigation also seemed to tiptoe around sensitive areas such as the involvement of other agencies and groups outside the FBI.

The second attempted impeachment of Trump in 2021 claimed that the January 6^th, 2021 invasion of the Capitol Building by demonstrators was incited by his speech of that day. The Democratically dominated House of Representatives intentionally misinterpreted the Trump statement “We fight like hell. And if you don't fight like hell, you're not going to have a country anymore” and completely ignored the statement “I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard”. The impeachment hearings were also stage-managed to the point where they were akin to a Soviet era show trial.

Since January 6^th, 2021 more and more information about US undercover staff and informers being active members of the Capitol Building invasion has become available. The FBI has not allowed public access to 40,000 hours of the footage collected that day, specifically stating that it would show too many undercover government agents and informants. This begs the question of whether or not state agencies had forewarning and therefore why extra police and security were not on duty; as with a previous Washington D.C. Black Lives Matter protest. In the following video of those BLM protests you will also see the obvious biased framing by the media, with a very sympathetic view taken of the violent protestors who were besieging the Whitehouse. Very different to the predominant media portrayal of the January 6^th protestors as “insurrectionists” and “terrorists”.

The lack of correct planning for the January 6th Capitol protests, and the lack of responses to Capitol Police requests for reinforcements have been put down to “mistakes” by the mainstream media, but they may also point to at least a readiness to allow something to happen that could be exploited against Trump. Especially when the protestors seem to have contained so many state security undercover personnel and informants. This is eerily similar to the downplaying of warnings before, and the lack of timely response during, the events of 9/11, for which no security state officials were ever even demoted.

The unreleased footage of January 6^th was given to Fox News, and the Biden administration and mainstream media caricatures of the January 6^th protestors as “insurrectionists” and “terrorists” were shown to be absurd given the peaceful and polite nature of the overwhelming majority of those within the Capitol Building. The claims of five deaths at the hands of the “insurrectionists” had already been proven to be utterly fabricated. The completely aligned nature of the Democratic Party and the mainstream media was very reminiscent of the “Russia, Russia, Russia” campaign. The Washington D.C. judiciary have selectively gone out of their way to “throw the book” at some of the protestors while Ray Epps who helped directly to  instigate the invasion of the Capitol Building walks free. The probable presence of numerous undercover federal and police agents and informants on January 6^th is pointed to by this investigation.

NY Indictment, Jean Carroll, Federal Records And Hunter Biden

Earlier this year a New York district attorney charged Donald Trump with falsifying business records, claiming that Trump’s payment to an ex-lover was a political expense and not a business expense as had been claimed. The incredibly tenuous nature of this prosecution is shown by Trump never having been indicted for the actual payoff, so the NY DA is claiming a crime (misrepresenting business records) that depends upon another crime (illegal political expense) that Trump has never been indicted of. In addition, an offence which is normally a misdemeanour was upgraded to a felony just for this case! It is highly questionable whether or not the DA will be able to prove his indictment.

It is intriguing to say the least that the Democrat-dominated New York legislature suddenly allowed from November 24, 2022, for civil claims alleging sexual assault that were previously not applicable due to the statute of limitations; for one year only! Just perfect for a Jean Carroll to sue Donald Trump for damages for an alleged assault in 1996 in a “he said, she said” case; fully supported and financed by a coterie of vehement “anti-Trumpers”. He was found guilty on the basis of the “more likely than not” standard used in civil trials with the jury rejecting Ms. Carroll’s claims of rape but agreeing on much lesser charges of sexual abuse and defamation. Trump is appealing the verdict.

Then we have the most recent state records case which is also tenuous and hard to prove at best, with Trump having significant legal defences. The aim seems to be to tie up Trump in a host of legal claims, and to tarnish his image, in the run up to the 2024 election now that he is so far in the lead for the Republican nomination and President Biden’s approval ratings are so awful. This is the head of state and his political party allies utilizing the legal tools of the state in an attempt to disable his main challenger; banana republic type behaviour.

Notably it has been reported that Mr. Biden took classified documents home and left them in a garage of one of his houses; but no charges for him. Neither for ex-President Obama who also had some records issues. And no charges for Hillary Clinton when as Secretary of State she intentionally set up a personal server, to bypass state security and protocols, to which she sent numerous classified emails. The full details of which have been kept from public gaze by the FBI and certain hard drive cleaning tools.

We have also had increasing disclosures about the widespread influence peddling, drug abuse, tax dodging and illegal gun ownership of President Biden’s son Hunter. This has included the widespread acceptance of the validity of the Hunter Biden laptop, and therefore the explicit election meddling of the mainstream media, social media corporations, and dozens of ex security state officials in suppressing access to news of the laptop in the last few weeks of the 2019 elections; a very serious offence for which no one has been charged. Instead of Hunter’s prosecution for his many serious crimes, he has been allowed to plead to a few minor crimes; an obvious case of prosecutorial favouritism to bury any revelations that could damage President Biden.

The attempts of the globalist wing of the US elite to bury Trump in legal issues and to damage his reputation, together with the highly selective and over the top prosecutions of January 6^th protestors, seem to be backfiring as the obviousness of the selective prosecutions has created a “rally around Trump” effect while damaging the already low reputations of the mainstream media and US state functionaries. The “Trump Derangement Syndrome” combined with arrogance and a seeming belief that they are untouchable seems to have infested the globalist elites and their courtiers to such an extent that they are unable to see the self-damaging nature of their lawfare campaigns and so elite media propaganda. Very much in the same way that they are blind to the self-defeating nature of their ever-escalating anti-Russia sanctions, and their unwillingness to even discuss errors made during the COVID-19 pandemic. By escalating political tensions and destroying what is left of their own legitimacy and credibility amongst a large segment of the population they risk not just elevating Trump but also fostering significant civil unrest. The related attempt to silence Tucker Carlson through his termination by Fox News and legal “gagging” has also only led to a massive increase in his popularity and an “unleashed” Carlson on Twitter, while severely damaging the legitimacy and ratings of the more establishment remaining Fox personalities.

The China Visits Foreign Policy Disaster

Both European (von der Layen and Macron) and US (Blinken) political leaders have visited China recently in attempts to improve relations. Both put on full display the over weaning arrogance of the Western elites and their utter inability to moderate their actions to better fulfil their aims; it is as if they just cannot help themselves. Also, on display was the seemingly endless official courtesy of Chinese officials to foreign state visitors.

French president Macron seemed to think that if he just remained polite and did not raise the extremely insulting and tendentious charges of Xinjiang and Tibet “human rights violations” (with French police regularly attacking protestors against his own government!), and the Taiwan issue (with France still clinging on to colonies across the world), he could achieve a major diplomatic breakthrough. Although the Chinese were very polite and welcoming, “doing the minimum” has never achieved such breakthroughs. Von der Leyen, who had attached herself to this French state visit, showed her lack of basic manners by warning China not to sell arms to Russia while the EU happily arms Ukraine, and by asking it to act like an obedient Western lapdog in pressuring it’s ally Russia to end the Ukraine conflict.

She had already undermined the trip by her aggressive rhetoric in a speech given just prior to its occurrence. The Chinese response was polite but firm. The European economy is already reeling from the effects of the self-flagellating anti-Russia sanctions and the last thing it needs is to destroy its relationship with China. Macron, in his own arrogant and incompetent way was trying to differentiate EU/French relations between Russia and China, while von der Leyen seemed driven to completely undermine his approach; acting more in the interests of the US than of Europe.

This was nothing though when compared to the visit of Blinken, the man who started Biden’s term in office by massively insulting the Chinese at the Anchorage Summit. Recently, the Chinese have even been refusing to talk with US officials; which seems to have greatly worried the US. Again, China was polite and Blinken acted like an arrogant Western elite brat; he still seems to believe that lecturing another state to its face will produce results. Then the day after the end of the trip Biden called Xi Jinping a dictator, a very personal insult which further destroys the credibility of the Biden administration in both China and the non-Western world.

The DEI Elite Jumping The Shark Period

The utter disconnect between the Western elites and the general population has been further displayed by the heavy-handed efforts to force diversity, equity and inclusion policies upon the general populace that are seen by the latter as attacks upon both civil liberties and parental rights, as well as undermining meritocracy. This has triggered a significant and growing response from a major portion of the populace and is forcing some retrenchment of the policies and the heavy-handed tactics. It also hands a perfect cultural campaign issue on which right wing groups, such as the Trump coalition, can stand for in elections while even more undermining the legitimacy of the media, liberal policy “experts” and state officials. The “jump the shark” area has become that of trans rights, especially as it affects children’s and women’s spaces; child safety and perceived fairness are highly visceral issues that can result in explosive social reactions. As Glenn Greenwald puts it so well:

What destroyed the culture war consensus was their cynical and self-interested decision to transform the LGBT cause into one that no longer focused on the autonomy of adult Americans to live freely — which most people support — but instead to demand the right to influence and indoctrinate other people’s children.

Let me state that I believe that all people should be treated with respect and given the support that they need to live the best lives they can, but recent heavy-handed policies by both the state and businesses directly challenge the fundamental rights and equity of treatment of large segments of the population while triggering visceral reactions in many.

The greatest display of utter blindness has of course been the Bud Light marketing disaster, with the company that owns the Bud Light brand hiring a marketing executive who is utterly disconnected from the main population segment that actually consumes (well perhaps consumed) the beer – middle aged conservative working class white men. This video shows that utter disconnection between the boarding school, Wharton MBA and Harvard graduate who had previous experience selling Listerine and lives in a multi-million-dollar New York Central Park home, and the ex-consumers of Bud light.

This marketing genius is now on “leave”, but the Bud light team seems to have learned very little as their very latest ad goes out of its way to demean their core customer base!

Then of course there is the Target decision to make their children’s clothes “trans-friendly” without asking for input from their customers, or even warning them; part of the wider issue of “gender affirming” policies toward young children. It is unfortunate that I have to use some right-wing Youtube channels as reference, but the elite liberal progressive dominated mainstream media coverage is utterly biased and misleading. That coverage also takes an extremely condescending view of the concerns of perhaps a majority of the US population. The respectful and equitable treatment of lesbian, gay and bisexual individuals has been pretty much culturally agreed upon in the West and even in the US – so this is not an LGBTQ+ issue. Secondly, this is not about the equitable treatment in general of even transsexual individuals, it is about the specific policies and actions directed at children and women’s spaces.

The whole issue of “gender affirming care” and “social transitioning” for young children and teenagers has not been opened to a proper public debate, and it is subject to a large amount of disagreement and challenge; instead policies are being imposed by the liberal globalist elite in an extremely heavy-handed fashion. Within the UK this heavy-handed approach is starting to be reversed, and the British National Health Service stopped the “gender affirming care model” last year ending the “gender clinic” model, with puberty blockers only allowed to be delivered in a research setting (and the same signalled for cross-sex hormones) as their risks are unknown, and social transitioning strongly discouraged. The NHS now also “defines ‘gender incongruence’ as a misalignment between the individual’s experience of their gender identity and their biological sex”; recentring biological sex. The open lying of some trans activists and even state functionaries about science, such as statements that puberty blockers just put “puberty on hold” and that the effects of taking cross-sex hormones are fully reversible, is reminiscent of the highly questionable statements of state functionaries and official “experts” during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The other major issue is the invasion of what were previously biological women’s spaces, such as girls and women’s sports, bathrooms, changing rooms and prisons by individuals claiming to be women while sporting male genitalia and even male beards. In the prison case, this has led to a convicted rapist being housed in a woman’s prison, a convicted sex offender identifying as a woman and raping another person with “her” penis, and accusations of transgender inmates raping women in women’s prisons. Convicted trans individuals do need to be properly protected within the prison service, but not at the risk of other women prisoners. Such instances drive home the shortcomings in the approach that assumes that anyone can simply assert that they are a woman and gain access to women’s spaces. It should be obvious that such an approach is wide open to abuse by sex offenders.

The rejection of basic biological reality with respect to sports is an area where Western elite delusion and deafness also directly impacts women and girls, right down to the school level; with elite media even attempting to argue that male puberty does not bestow an obvious competitive advantage – so much for “following the science” approach that liberals supposedly support. The cases of Lia Thomas in US college swimming and Fallon Fox and Alana Mclaughlin in MMA are some examples. The worm has also started to slowly turn with respect to sports, World Athletics and the world governing body of aquatic sports have both ruled against anyone that has gone through male puberty competing in elite female sports.

My reason for discussing the DEI elite delusion is not to deal with that case specifically, but to cover it as yet another case of the utter disconnect between the US (and many other Western) liberal globalist elites and their courtiers and the rest of the population; we are truly in Marie Antoinette territory. In addition to being utterly tone deaf to probably a majority of Western populations, these heavy-handed DEI policies also set Western elites apart from the generally conservative 7/8ths of the world’s population outside the West; undermining the popularity of Western culture. The recent casting of a Black Cleopatra by Netflix is an obvious case that was taken as an insult by the majority of Egyptians.

The full acceptance and inclusion of lesbian, gay and bisexual individuals in society was handled in a way that built a social consensus that has proven sustainable. The heavy-handed, condescending and over-reaching nature of the elite approach to DEI has created quite the opposite, while also directly endangering women and girls and destroying much of what is left of the legitimacy of the mainstream media and state actors. It also places at risk the gains made by the LGB community with respect to the acceptance of same-sex attraction, with gender and queer theory undermining the ontological basis of sex-based attraction and claiming all such attraction is a cultural artefact; reopening the door to conversion therapy. As Andrew Doyle puts it:

Gender identity ideology is essentially anti-gay … Gay rights were secured through the recognition that a minority of people are instinctively orientated towards members of their own sex. Gender identity ideology seeks to break down the very notion of biological sex and claim that it is unimportant.

It has also handed Donald Trump, and the right wing in general, an absolute gift for the 2024 election season. It has been noted by some commentators that the explosion of DEI discourses in the media happened immediately after the Occupy Wall Street movement was shut down by the elites. These commentators see identity politics, DEI etc. as an intentional distraction from the class-based politics that OWS was starting to drive into the mainstream, and a way to divide and conquer the majority to facilitate their continued dominance by the minority. The area of what can easily be typified as a new anti-racism that is seemingly designed to sow discord between ethnic groups while infantilizing Black Americans and removing the focus from issues of class, at a time of the lowest levels of racism in the history of the US, lends support to this position. It has certainly served to cripple the left in the US Democratic Party, after the Democratic Party twice had to use dirty tricks to stop the candidacy of the class-focused Bernie Saunders. Such individuals as Kendi are in reality shills for a liberalism which is based upon capitalist elite class societal dominance.
